Touching One Foundation
A community walking together at golden hour

Church History · Established 3 June 2014

Our Story

Touching One was established to counter the surge of social ills plaguing the community by establishing Godly foundations — launched on the 3rd of June 2014 by Apostle Allen Lang in the Westbury area.

01The Beginning

Born of urgency and compassion

Touching One Foundation emerged during a time when Westbury was deeply affected by gang violence, drug activity, and generational cycles of brokenness. Families were living under the shadow of fear, young people were being pulled into destructive lifestyles, and hope felt like a luxury many could no longer afford. The community was crying out for transformation — not just social change, but spiritual renewal.

02The Mandate

One life at a time

Apostle Allen Lang, moved by the suffering she witnessed daily, felt a divine mandate to plant a ministry that would stand as a beacon of light in one of Johannesburg's most troubled neighbourhoods. She believed that true restoration begins with one life at a time — touching one heart, one family, one street, until the entire community begins to shift.

03The Launch

3 June 2014

With this conviction, she launched Touching One Foundation on 3 June 2014. The vision was clear: to confront darkness with the power of God's love, to rebuild moral foundations, and to create safe spaces where healing, discipleship, and empowerment could flourish.

04The Work

A community anchor

From its earliest days, the church positioned itself not only as a spiritual home but as a community anchor. Outreach teams walked the streets, prayed with families, and offered support to those trapped in addiction or violence. Youth programs were created to give young people alternatives to gang involvement. Counselling, mentorship, and practical assistance became pillars of the ministry.

05The Message

Change begins with one

Touching One quickly became known as a place where the forgotten were seen, the broken were restored, and the hopeless rediscovered purpose. Its message was simple yet powerful: change begins with one — one decision, one encounter with God, one act of love that can ripple through an entire community.

06Today

A movement of transformation

Today, Touching One Foundation continues to stand as a testimony of what faith, courage, and community can accomplish. What began as a response to crisis has grown into a movement of transformation, shaping lives and restoring hope throughout Westbury and beyond.

"We cannot change the world, but we can change the world of one person."
